We have a new contract vacancy for an experienced operator to join an excellent unit in this very picturesque part of the country; we seek a competent tractor driver who has a connection with dairy husbandry.
The foundation of the role is to take the lead in the day-to-day mechanisation of this well-equipped dairy unit. This comprises of TMR feeding the 500-cow herd.
The cows are loose housed on straw yards and one of the largest responsibilities of this role will be the bedding of the yards. It is all mechanised using a Kuhn bedder but along with the feeding it will be one of the main roles of the job.
This position will suit a dairy enthusiast, driven by attention to detail and welfare with an interest in pedigree cows who is motivated by team performance and achievement. With a commitment to training and career development, the farm will offer a broad range of responsibilities to include maintenance of machinery and feed stock control.
The successful applicant will be offered really first-class accommodation on the farm, close to a full range of amenities in a very picturesque part of the county, along with an excellent pay and time off package.
The farm is situated near Dover and therefore does provide excellent general facilities. There are also excellent road and rail links making the country and countries as a whole very accessible.
This farm is cropped with grass and maize for the cows. This is a family owned business, with all the family taking an active role in the running and working of the farm.

The dry stock have an excellent range of modern buildings with good access for feeding and bedding. Silage clamps and feed stores are all well laid out.
THE DAIRY HERD
Calving takes place all year; this is a very well looked after 500 cow herd; milked twice a day with yields of around 7000 litres. The cows are pedigree Jerseys. The milking cows are fed a T.M.R diet and housed all year.
There is first class accommodation provided on the farm that would suit a single person/couple. This is free from rent, rates and council tax.

This is a dedicated, highly mechanised dairy farm; the team and role can cater for a variety of strengths and interests within the framework of the role.
While basic dairy experience would be beneficial, we do need genuine dairy interest. The business will offer the successful candidate every opportunity for training and to gain further experience on all aspects of the farm.
