This unit is set to run with approximately 270 high yielding Holstein/Friesian cows, calving throughout the year with 240 cows consistently in milk. The herd is TMR fed with additional feeding in the parlour; yields are around 9500 litres per cow.
We are also able to offer with this position a very competitive remuneration/days off package, and a decent mobile home free from rent, rates and council tax, on the farm grounds.

LOCATION: The farm is situated just outside the village of Beare Green. There is a primary school and coach service to senior school in the village, as well as shops, post office, and several pubs. There is a main line rail station to London Victoria. Dorking and Horsham are both within easy reach of the farm. They both also have a huge selection of shops.
THE FARM: The unit is part of a large farming business of 1500 acres, with arable, dairy and beef, keeping all calves to finishing. Silage is made on the ground further away that is in arable rotation, with maize and short-term leys.
THE UNIT: The unit comprises of a modern dairy, 24:24 herringbone parlour, DTL with ACR’s. With collecting yard, cow handling and calving area all well laid out on this compact unit. Feeding is in a feed trough using a feed wagon and the cows are sand cubicle housed.
THE DAIRY HERD: Calving is all year; this is a commercial herd of Friesian/Holstein cows, with yields expected to go over 9500 litres. The aim is to continue with about 250 cows. The cows are Friesian/Holstein type.
ACCOMMODATION: A pleasant mobile home with heating will be available on the farm grounds, free from rent, rates, and council tax.
REMUNERATION: This is a well-rewarded position; tailored to the successful applicant’s age and experience.
TIME OFF: This is a 245-day contract, with therefore 120-days off per contract year.
