We are looking for a positive, driven and experienced herdsperson to join our young team on a dairy enterprise near Oakham in Rutland. 

Job Skills

Key responsibilities will include milking, foot trimming, herd health & fertility, grazing management, general stock husbandry tasks and sharing the day-to-day running of the herd.  The farm currently milks around 200 cows.

Job Description

The herd is mainly block calved in late spring and is made up of robust Friesian X cattle producing milk on a premium solids contract.  Making the most from forage the focus will be on profitable, sustainable milk production with emphasis on high herd welfare. 

We are looking for: 

• A flexible and positive attitude

• Team player

• Experience in a similar role

• Foot trimming experience/certificate 

Attitude and willingness to learn is essential, training will be offered to the right person for essential skills. There is an emphasis on continuous personal development and active involvement in a number of dairy discussion groups is encouraged.
