Job Skills

We require a very enthusiastic and versatile Herd manager to run all day – day tasks and to help maximise the amount of milk obtained from grazed grass.

The successful candidate will be a very enthusiastic person who leads by example and has very high standards in whatever they do. They must also have previous experience on a similar farm and be able to think for themselves and motivate and challenge staff to enable the unit to run smoothly.

Job Description

The herd is milked through a rotary parlour with ADF; paddock grazed for as long as the weather dictates (generally March – Nov) and are housed in cubicles during the winter where they are fed a TMR. Regular grass measuring takes place on a weekly basis. All data is inputted onto software to give a grass wedge.
