It's with great pleasure that we can announce that LKL’s very own James Picot, Regional Manager and Trainer extraordinaire is a winner of the RoSPA Health and Safety Influencer of the Year Award 2020.
As you may know James has been actively training LKL staff and wider farming teams and contractors in health and safety related skills such as tractor & telehandlers driver & ATV courses, Emergency First Aid, Manual handling and more recently the Farm Safety & Wellness Awareness course over the last 15 years.
In 2019 James was approached to deliver his Farm Safety and Welfare Awareness courses for Dairy Farms supplying Marks and Spencer's. This training project has taken him all around the country to deliver his Safety course for all Marks and Spencer's Dairy Farming teams (in excess of 40 Farms) to great acclaim.
So impressed were the rest of LKL with his dedication that we decided to enter him into the RoSPA Influencer of the Year Award. This is awarded to those individuals that RoSPA feels have made the biggest impact in health and safety at work or in their community in the last 12 months. In August we discovered that James had won!
George Gordon, MD of LKL Services Ltd said “Myself and all of the team at LKL are thrilled that James has been recognised for all of his years of commitment to Health & Safety training on farms over the years
I estimate he has spent in excess of 1000 days over the last 15 years to provide H&S training to LKL staff and contractors, which he has fitted around his day job as Regional Manager.
He is an unsung hero within this industry sector, and we believe that he will have prevented accidents, near misses and even fatalities by his herculean efforts to promote good H&S on farms and up-skill staff."
We all look forward to congratulating James in person and celebrating later in the year.
