The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role, excellent stockmanship skills, a proactive and preventative approach to herd health and welfare and take pride in the stock they produce. Likewise, you will be capable and confident in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the farm, from feeding and husbandry skills, field maintenance, and pasture management, alongside basic field tractor work during silage season.
The business, which encompasses the cattle farms and silage ground, has its own abattoir and various market outlets for the beef it produces.
Located in New South Wales and within easy reach of the major cities of the region, the main farm comprises of a 500-head suckler herd which are grazed seasonally and semi-housed when needed. The role would entail all aspects of stockmanship, general farm work, tractor work and silage harvest work - all the while ensuring the animals within your care receive the highest possible standards of welfare for a healthy happy life, optimising their daily live weight gain.
