We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic herdsperson to join a team on a family dairy farming business. The herd running with 550-cows, milked 3 times a day and calving all year.
The farm seeks, and will reward enthusiasm, livestock skills and commitment, with a diverse role. You will play an active part in the performance of the herd and youngstock.
With milk sales above 12,000 litres per cow, they are housed within truly first-class facilities providing excellent surroundings to apply husbandry and stockmanship as a member of a very skilled and focused team.

LOCATION: The farm business is situated about 3 miles from Edenbridge, which has a range of schools and facilities. The large village of Lingfield is also a few miles away giving and excellent choice of facilities.
THE FARM: This is a family farm of approximately 600 acres. It is cropped mainly with grass, some whole crop cereals, and maize. The farm is staffed by a working farmer, tractor driver, and with the aim of having a dedicated team of two on the dairy enterprise.
THE UNIT: The dairy unit has a fully automated two man 36:36 parlour with auto ID/shedding, DTL with ADF. The unit is well laid out with parlour, dairy, office, collecting yard, and isolation area/handling facility all under one roof. There are silage clamps and cubicle housing with auto scrapers.
THE DAIRY HERD: Calving is all year, and numbers are set to run with heifer calvings this year to 550. The cows are Pedigree Holsteins, and the herd is well known in the pedigree world. The cows are complete diet fed and yields are in excess of 12,000 litres sold per cow.
ACCOMMODATION: There is a good 3-bedroom accommodation available. The housing is available free from rent, rates, and council tax, and it is on the farm grounds.
REMUNERATION: Subject to negotiation.
TIME OFF: 100 days per year.
