We have contract vacancy for an experienced head herd’s person to join a family farming operation near Sherborne in Dorset.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing large dairy herds, with excellent knowledge of milking, calving, herd health, fertility and drying-off procedures. You should be confident leading staff, working with vets, using herd management systems such as Genus RMS.
This multiple site farming operation is milking around 2,000 cows and needs an experienced head person to undertake management of 1 x 600 cow unit, to include over-seeing 2x day milking’s, vet routines, calving’s, drying off and general herd health operations. A contract foot trimmer is used, and fertility is overseen with utilising Genus RMS.
A 4 Bedroom detached house accommodation off farm is available, and a very competitive salary is on offer.
