We require an experienced and skilled herdsperson to manage a small herd of around 180 all year-round calving cows between Nottingham and Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire.
Key responsibilities will include milking the herd, AI (if possible), reactive foot problems, grassland management, herd health & fertility, general stock husbandry tasks and the day-day running of the cows.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a similar position, be an excellent stockperson, good communicator and able to work well in a small team. This position could be suitable for a couple as there is work as an assistant on the farm also.
The farm has a 12:24 parlour with ACRs, feeders and milk meters to milk the 180 Friesian x Holstein Pedigree cows yielding approx 8,000 -9,000 litres.
The farm feed a semi TMR of grass, maize and blend throughout the year as well as feed in the parlour.
