Job Summary

Relief/Temporary - potential ongoing work

We are looking for a reliable, practical relief worker to assist on a 200-acre diversified ex-dairy farm where the yard has been converted into industrial units.

Job Skills

Key Tasks

•    Fencing (barbed wire and sheep fencing to protect new hedging)
•    Hedge planting to meet SFI requirements
•    Cultivations (approx. 50 acres of bird seed crops)
•    General farm and estate maintenance
•    Building maintenance (gutters, drains, basic repairs)
•    Basic machinery maintenance

Desirable Skills

•    Spraying certificate (PA1/PA2) – otherwise spraying may be contracted
•    Welding
•    Digger / excavator operation
•    General mechanical ability

The Right Person

•    Farming or agricultural background preferred
•    Comfortable working independently most of the time
•    Practical and versatile
•    Friendly and professional around industrial yard tenants
•    Able to take initiative and solve problems

Job Description

The role is varied and best suited to someone with a strong farming background who enjoys working independently.

This is an unusual and varied role – ideal for the right person who can turn their hand to many tasks.

This position would suit someone experienced in agriculture who enjoys varied work rather than routine and would need to commute from home to the farm.
