An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced TMR feeder operator to undertake the feeding, telehandler operations and other yard tractor work on a large dairy unit close to Duns in the beautiful Scottish Borders area.
The role would focus on mixing and managing feed stocks and ensuring that an accurate diet - as specified by the farm nutritionist - is fed to the different groups in the herd, alongside this you will undertake straw processing tasks, pre-mix mixing and general telehandler operations, working with farm deliveries and general yard tasks as well as machinery maintenance.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role, strong attention to detail, a proactive approach towards maintenance and an understanding of cow nutrition and the importance of the diet -although training can be given.
The unit, part of a wider dairy and arable farming business, is exceptionally tidy, well invested and highly mechanised and enjoys an outstanding staff retention record.
